Much like people’s kitchens and dining rooms across the country, the cafeteria at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is the heart of the hospital. St. Jude founder Danny Thomas insisted on having just one cafeteria, a place that would foster an even deeper sense of family among those who worked at St. Jude and those being cared for at St. Jude. He knew that by breaking bread with patients and their families, the faculty and staff would have a daily reminder of the importance of their work. Danny’s cafeteria accomplished that, and now, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of longtime partner Sterling Jewelers, renewed life has been breathed into Danny’s dream. With large windows, beautiful artwork and comfortable dining furniture, the newly designed Kay Kafe offers a comfortable gathering place for the entire St. Jude family.
